On my nomination :
- I am a bit scared as to what and how much I can contribute.
If you insist would be glad to submit myself for the
nomination but would be more happy to defer myself for a more well versed
individual. Ideally I would be glad to see anyone from Joop's nominations
in other categories and/ or - Foomklin, Ellen Rony and Ralph Nader instead
of me.
I have my value as an idealist activist (stretching it
quite a bit !) - aiding esteemed individuals like you ladies and gentlemen
- from a common man perspective and participation. I am literally on
naive side when it comes to dealing with ICANN or NSI or governance.
Background :
- A small time domain name owner. Work full time as a
Datawarehouse Designer and Adminstrator (glorified Oracle Casetool/DBA).
Live and work in Atlanta for a revenue management software firm.
'Dream' of getting my web company up on its feet in parttime.
Came close to have NSI dispute policy hit on my face and a law suit
- with WIPO RFC3 as prime proof. After I had an attorney file reply
to them. Did not hear from them so far. (Hope not to anymore). That
experience (and trama) had fueled my involvement in DN matters.
My only (productive ?) contributions to date are some
posting in other groups, writting to newspapers, etc.(before finding
IDNO), posting comments on WIPO (http://wipo2.wipo.int/dns_comments/rfc3/0190.html)
and participating in IDNO and a little bit (online) at the Berlin meet.
Born in India, worked in couple of Middle Eastern countries
before ending up in US.
