I support the Individual Domain Name Owners constituency, as it represents
the most inclusive set of stakeholders proposed for service to ICANN
through the DNSO. I concur with the IDNO position and preference to
afford representation to stakeholders themselves as opposed to affording
representation to only entities claiming to serve stakeholders indirectly
as valued customers.
I
was educated to be an Agricultural Engineer. Albeit, I have spent much
of my life in sales. I have during the 90's gained some modest experience
with neural psychology, and presently understand the development of
the human mind a little better than I do the Internet. At present, I
manage an Oregon vineyard and help make the wine.
I came to Cyber Space, in the last year of Jon Postel's life, as a result
of my decision to buy my daughter the Internet for Christmas. By the
following summer I had finished building her computer and had us both
on-line. The act of taking this hands on approach in order to fulfil
my promise, has set my life course on a new direction.
To learn more about the internet, I began my research in the soil (where
the roots grow): Domain Policy List served as my introduction. To my
surprise, I found the soils quite disturbed.
I have a long 'thought horizon': It is my belief that decisions made
today, as we form the ICANN, it's Supporting Organizations, and their
Constituencies, will profoundly effect us for a long time to come. It
is essential, in my view, that individuals be represented, substantively,
in this new governing body, from the very beginning.
We have now seven constituencies in the DNSO, and yet none do center
their foundations upon the individual. For it's promise to represent
the most inclusive set of stakeholders, the Individuals; I support the
Individual Domain Name Owners constituency, as proposed for service
to the ICANN through the DNSO.
I
concur with the IDNO position and preference to afford representation
to stakeholders themselves as opposed to affording representation only
for entities claiming to serve stakeholders indirectly as valued customers.
