Full
disclosure of all sources of funding.
1.
Contributions by Donors.
Joop
Teernstra has spent around $US 8300 of his own funds on
travel from New Zealand to Singapore, Berlin, Santiago,
Yokohama, Melbourne and Montevideo to attend the ICANN meetings
and approximately US$800 on domain service and website hosting
fees for the IDNO. (on-going)
ISOCNZ(*)
has the honour of having made the first cash contribution to the IDNO
by paying the attendance fee of DM 80, - for the DNSO meeting in Berlin.
ISOCNZ
has funded $ US 404,- towards the cost of accommodation in Berlin and
$645 for accommodation in Yokohama.
ISOCNZ
has also funded 12 months of website hosting and domain name fees.(ad
US$399)
IDNO
member Karl Auerbach has made a cash contribution of $US
1000 towards Joop Teernstra's expenses.
IDNO
member Srikanth Narra has given $300 towards the "Santiago"
expenses.
IDNO
member Andy Gardner has spent around $700 to be able to
be present and help in Santiago. He also paid for the idno.org
Domain Name fee.
NSI
has donated $ 1858 towards the costs of travel and accommodation in
Berlin and $ 1000 towards those in Santiago.
This
has been accepted with the understanding that the IDNO must maintain
its independence by treating such a payment as a loan that must be repaid
out of members' contributions.
The
above gift has been the result of an approach by the cash-strapped IDNO
founder. It has not been an NSI initiative.
2.
Support sought, and finally obtained.
Support
from the Salzburg
Seminar (created to fund ICANN meeting representatives'
travel expenses) has been sought since the fund was announced
at the Cairo meeting. For Yokohama and Melbourne it was
not obtained, due to restriction of such funding to NCDNHC
(Non-commercial Domain Name Holders) constituency members.
Prior
to the Montevideo meetings, the CA voted on and applied
for membership of the NCDNHC. This has opened the way for
future funding of ICANN travel for CA representatives.
In
September 2001 Salzburg Seminar generously funded the travel
of your CA representative to the Montevideo meeting.
The
mailing list service of Actrix has been pre-paid by Chris
Streatfield.
The
list service is now donated by InternetNZ.
